Winter storms to be named like hurricanes
Predictive programming? Perhaps…
Starting this year, big winter storms in the U.S. will be named, just like hurricanes.
But it will be the Weather Channel naming the storms, not the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The Weather Channel announced the decision Tuesday, releasing a list of 26 “names with attitude” they selected for this season
This year’s names include Greek and Roman mythological figures, a “Lord of the Rings” character, and even a New York subway line:
–Athena
–Brutus
–Caesar
–Draco
–Euclid
–Freyr
–Gandolf
–Helen
–Iago
–Jove
–Khan
–Luna
–Magnus
–Nemo
–Orko
–Plato
–Q
–Rocky
–Saturn
–Triton
–Ukko
–Virgil
–Walda
–Xerxes
–Yogi
–Zeus
